Colorado Springs – Focus on the Family Action Senior Vice President of Public Policy Tom Minnery issued the following statement regarding the House vote this evening on the FY08 Consolidated Appropriation Act:

“Critical pro-life provisions — including the Mexico City Policy — survived negotiations between members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate, and now go before the full House for a vote as part of the FY08 Omnibus budget bill. We congratulate House and Senate leaders and other members who worked to make this happen. As House members vote, we urge them to retain these important provisions in the bill.

Unfortunately, the bill also includes increased Title X funding for abortion providing organizations like Planned Parenthood without an equal increase in abstinence education funding.”
