Focus on the Family Pro-life Ad To Be Shown During Hula Bowl
Hula Bowl Owner Gives January 12th Spot Time to Option Ultrasound™ Initiative
January 11, 2008
January 11, 2008, Colorado Springs — A Focus on the Family TV spot will be featured during the Hula Bowl on January 12, 2008. Designed to highlight the organization’s involvement in Sanctity of Human Life Week, January 20-27, the spot showcases a 4D ultrasound image accompanied by a message celebrating pre-born human life. The spot is part of Focus’ Option Ultrasound™ initiative, a groundbreaking effort to provide ultrasound equipment and services to pregnancy resource centers around the nation.
The airtime for this spot was donated by Hula Bowl owner Nick Logan as part of a larger effort to bring positive commercial messaging to the game, even at the expense of his bottom line. Logan approached Focus on the Family with the offer of several timeslots, and the organization accepted. “Having our spot appear during the Hula Bowl is a huge opportunity for Focus and the pro-life community,” said Sr. Vice President Steve Maegdlin. “For thirty years, Focus on the Family has championed the sanctity of human life at all stages. Now, as we approach the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, this unique television presence allows us to make visible a message that we hold dear.”
