Family News in Focus Welcomes New Host

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A new voice will host Family News in Focus starting May 27. It belongs to Kim Trobee, a veteran of the daily family-issues news program and previous host of its weekend edition.

“Kim will give Family News in Focus a dynamic feel that will engage listeners,” said Jim Daly, Focus on the Family president and CEO. “Not only is she the program’s first female host, but she brings a unique combination of passion and pro-family public policy knowledge to the position.”

In addition to her new hosting responsibilities, Kim will continue working as Focus on the Family Action’s digital media producer. In this role, Kim writes, produces and hosts Turn Signal, a daily Web feature available via CitizenLink.com and Focus on the Family’s main Web site, www.FocusOnTheFamily.com.

Since her first radio job at age 11, Kim has spent the majority of her life working in TV and radio. She has been an on-air presence for numerous radio and TV broadcasts, including a stint as a weather personality for a Nebraska TV station.

Trobee believes her role in keeping people across the country involved and up-to-date on important family issues a vital one, and uses her own family – a husband and two sons – as a reminder of why she does what she does.

“I’m always heartened whenever I hear of someone taking a stand for principled truths, whether it is in front of their local school board, city council meeting or writing a note to a member of Congress, because our families are at stake,” Trobee said. “My hope as host of Family News in Focus is to make the issues clear and motivate listeners to action.”

Family News in Focus is a daily radio news program that highlights pro-family issues from a Christian perspective. Heard on more than 700 stations across the United States, program content includes practical tips to help concerned citizens get involved in their communities. The show, which also has a weekend edition, is produced by Focus on the Family.
